Lasamee is a writer, editor, educator, and creative dedicated to uplifting the stories of AAPI community members to empower them and inspire positive change. Her professional journey has included consulting on sustainability reports at the University of Texas at Austin, teaching writing at Dallas County community colleges, and more recently, serving in communications and management roles at a coworking space (Stoke Denton) and the Laotian American National Alliance (LANA).

Throughout her career, Lasamee has focused on people-centered work, using the written word to make an impact. Her passion for storytelling and advocacy led her to participate in NAPAWF’s gender justice convening in 2024, where she deepened her commitment to amplifying marginalized voices. She now continues this work as NAPAWF’s communications manager.

A Lao American and daughter of refugees, Lasamee grew up in Dallas, Texas, and earned two MAs from the University of North Texas in Philosophy and Professional & Technical Communication. She remains deeply connected to the Denton community. In her free time, Lasamee contributes to the Lao Food Foundation and Hottest Plate, and runs Good and Golden, a food and culture business celebrating Lao cuisine. She also co-founded DTX Writers, a semi-monthly workshop for local writers.
