WASHINGTON, D.C. – The NARAL Pro-Choice America Board today announced the organization’s new president, Mini Timmaraju. Founded in 1969, NARAL Pro-Choice America is the oldest membership organization dedicated to fighting for abortion access. Timmaraju is the first woman of color to lead the organization.

Statement from Sung Yeon Choimorrow, Executive Director of the National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum (NAPAWF):

“We welcome Mini Timmaraju back into the fight for reproductive freedom, especially at a time when our rights have been under continuous attack. Mini’s experience, not only in the gender and reproductive space, but her expertise on growing diversity and equity, will bring a seasoned and steady hand to shed light on those who have been most affected by attacks on abortion access.

We look forward to working with Mini at the helm of NARAL to advance racial justice in the reproductive freedom movement.”
