Washington, D.C.  – On Wednesday, President Joe Biden announced his nomination of Lucy Koh to the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit:

“Judge Koh’s expansive and awe-inspiring career demonstrates her strong qualifications to sit on the federal bench,” said Sung Yeon Choimorrow, Executive Director, National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum (NAPAWF).

“As a daughter of Korean American immigrants, Judge Koh’s nomination is a testament to the importance of building a federal bench that reflects our diversity as a country. Out of the 179 judgeships in the U.S. Courts of Appeals, only 10 Asian American and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) actively serve on the appellate bench.”
