WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum (NAPAWF) has launched a new video that offers a twist on the question, “Who are you voting for?”
The video highlights the importance of civic engagement by Asian American and Pacific Islander women with an emphasis on community being a powerful motivator.
“This is not just a question about who you are choosing on the ballot,” said Sung Yeon Choimorrow, NAPAWF’s executive director. “When we vote, we are bringing the care we have for our families, our loved ones, and our communities into the voting booth with us. This video is meant to inspire and activate AAPI women to have their voices heard.”
Lilan Bowden, actor, filmmaker, and comedian, directed the project, which is part of a continued partnership with Enfranchisement, an award-winning film production and creative strategy company that works with leading organizations who are committed to creating social change.
“As part of the AAPI community, I am incredibly grateful to be able to shed light on the importance of civic engagement within our communities,” said Bowden. “Our lives are interconnected, and AAPI women and gender expansive voters have the power to decide the future we want and deserve.”
