Intersections of Our Lives is a Reproductive Justice collaborative of In Our Own Voice: National Black Women’s Reproductive Justice Agenda (In Our Own Voice), National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum (NAPAWF), and National Latina Institute for Reproductive Justice (Latina Institute), three women-of-color led national Reproductive Justice organizations with federal and statewide presence. We wrote this letter to express our strong support of the confirmation of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to serve as an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States.

As Reproductive Justice organizations, the nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson marks a milestone for our judicial system. If confirmed, Judge Jackson would be the first Black woman to serve on the Supreme Court. To date, there have only been three justices of color and five justices who identify as women. It is essential that the Supreme Court reflects the lived experiences of all the people it serves, and this nomination is an important step towards that goal.

We urge for the swift confirmation of Judge Jackson to serve as our next Associate Justice on the Supreme Court of the United States.
