About: In honor of International Women’s Day join people in 450 movie theatres across the United States as CARE, ONE and NCM Fathom present the documentary film ‘A Powerful Noise’. In many countries around the world, women are still marginalized and given few rights. ‘A Powerful Noise’ tells the stories of three extraordinary women in Bosnia, Mali and Vietnam, and follows their efforts to create change. About: The Marathon is a “conversation” that will take place over a 24-hour period, following the sun and the business day around world. Discussions and connections will take place and information will be presented on issues for, by and about women in engineering. It is a combination of live Internet chats and teleconferences that will be accessible to a worldwide audience. Starts in North America and progresses through 5 other regions in the world including UK/Europe, Latin America, Africa/Middle East, India, and China.
