The Westin Hotel Alexandria, VA

The Asian American Justice Center (AAJC), Asian Pacific American Legal Center (APALC), Asian Law Caucus (ALC) and Asian American Institute (AAI) has invited NAPAWF to co- sponsor the 2nd annual Advancing Justice Conference: Asian Americans & Pacific Islanders United in Strength. This national Asian American civil and human rights conference will take place in the Washington, DC area from June 23- 24, 2010.

The rapid growth of the AAPI population presents serious challenges for the community, particularly with regard to such human and civil rights issues as education, housing, immigration, employment and language access for persons with limited English proficiency. The Advancing Justice Conference aims to address a broad range of human and civil rights issues that are central to the state of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the U.S. today and moving into the future.

It is anticipated that the 3- day national conference will attract over 400 individuals from across the country including national and local leaders, elected and appointed officials, attorneys, researchers, advocates, direct service providers, policy makers, students and others dynamically engaged in leadership and social justice work throughout the AAPI communities. Friday, June 25th is designated as Advocacy Day and will focus on immigration reform and immigrant rights.
