Join NAPAWF-Chicago's January Chapter Meeting! NAPAWF-Chicago welcomes you to kick off the new year at our January chapter meeting! Special guest Myrla Baldonado will join us to discuss her current organizing efforts among Filipina domestic workers as they gear up to introduce a Domestic Worker Bill of Rights in Illinois. Ms. Baldonado leads training facilitation and basebuilding in the Filipino community, with a focus on communication, public speaking, and coalition building. Originally from the Phillipines, Ms. Baldonado is an internationally recognized human rights leader with over 20 years of impactful organizing experience. Ms. Baldonado led efforts to close the largest U.S. military base outside of the continental U.S., advocating to the United Nations and other international institutions to clean up toxins from the site, and assisting in the creation of two award winning human rights documentaries focused on the Philippines. She is a caregiver for the elderly and disabled and is a national spokesperson for the Caring Across Generations Campaign. This event is free and open to the public.
