NAPAWF-Bay Area is hosting a film screening of "Slaying the Dragon: Reloaded" on Tuesday, November 1st from 6-9pm at UC Berkeley. Reloaded is a documentary about representations of API women in TV, film, and the internet, it includes critique/discussion re: films including Charlies' Angels, Slumdog Millionaire, Kill Bill, Saving Face, and Better Luck Tomorrow, and is a sequel to the original 1988 documentary.
The film will be followed by a discussion with Elaine Kim, filmmaker, professor, and head of Asian American Studies at UC Berkeley. We will show the original 1988 documentary, "Slaying the Dragon" at 6pm for those of you who haven't seen it, or would like to see it again.
